This guy seems to be saying “Wake up, everybody, it’s hump day.”
It is indeed Wednesday and this song sparrow — today’s Bird Calls Bird of the Day — is certainly saying something. I think it was talking to other song sparrows, though, not us. It was a pretty song, though.
Song sparrows are reliable sightings on bird walks throughout New England. They are identified by not only the spot on its chest, but also its beautiful song. Listen to is here: songsprw1
