Bird Calls was live from the Oyster Festival
It was a great live show from Norwalk Oyster Festival this past Saturday. The folks are WSTC/WNLK are top-notch and real professionals (although like to have fun, too).
I deemed the name of the event the Osprey Festival for my hour on the air. (I didn’t think the folks from the sponsor Norwalk Seaport Association would mind.)
Jenny Dickson, biologist from the Connecticut DEEP, was the guest. Wonder why it’s called the DEEP now, instead of the former DEP? Listen to the Bird Calls archives, which will appear on this site in the next day or so. Be sure to keep an eye out for it.
Dickson covered a wide range of topics and it was fun to bounce from topic to topic with someone so well-versed in nature. We talked about birds of prey, waders, moose, bats, frogs, lots of stuff.
Joe Warren of Wild Birds Unlimited in Darien, CT, and Bedford Hills, N.Y, joined us live via phone and he talked about the transition to fall and what one needs to get involved in the hobby of backyard birdwatching.
Again, be sure to stay tuned for the archive, which will appear soon on this site.
Be sure to check out Bird Calls every Saturday from 3 to 4 p.m. on WSTC/WNLK AM1400/1350 (in S. CT and nearby NY) or https://birdcallsradio.com/listen-live/ from anywhere in the world (where there’s Internet access, that is.) Thanks for checking in.
