Sunday morning I took a birdwatching tour of the Norwalk Islands off the coast of Norwalk, Conn., as part of the Norwalk Seaport Association’s annual cruises. It was the final tour of the year, so if you missed it, be sure to be ready next summer.

Norwalker and Master Wildlife Conservationist Larry Flynn led the tour, while Mark was the captain and Greg was the mate. About 20 people participated in the tour. We saw dozens of Osprey, American Oystercatchers, Common Loons, Double-crested Cormorants, Great Egrets, Little Blue Heron, Ruddy Turnstones, and plenty of other birds. We also saw a mink near Manresa Island.

I spoke of the tour during the Sunday, July 29, 2012, show, which will be repeated tonight (Monday, July 30) at 8 o’clock on 1490 WGCH. Check out that archive starting tomorrow morning if you missed the show.

Special thanks to the Norwalk Seaport Association.
