Mary Warren will be next guest on BirdCallsRadio

Mary Warren, Wildlife Communication Specialist & Naturalist at Magee Marsh in northwest Ohio.

Mary Warren, the naturalist at Magee Marsh Wildlife Area in northwest Ohio for the past 17 years, will be the guest on BirdCallsRadio this Sunday (March 25) from 1 to 2 p.m. on 1490 WGCH or Listen Live.

Warren returned to school at age 40 to pursue her dream of becoming a naturalist. Do you have similar dreams — whether it is to become a naturalist or whatever? Mary will explain how to chase down that dream and make it a reality.

“It’s never too late to pursue your true interest,” she says.

Mary has been awarded the Master Frontline Interpreter award by the National Association for Interpretation. Her duties at Magee Marsh include visitor services, volunteer coordinator, and program and event coordinator. She also leads a spring Beginning Bird ID class each year.

She also has a particular interest in getting children involved in the outdoors and started a Kids Nature Club with Firelands Audubon, of which she is president. In 2011, she received Firelands Audubon’s highest award, the Great Blue Conservation Award.

She also enjoys camping and hiking and has traveled to Central America to see birds. Mary lives in Sandusky, Ohio, and has three children, 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Magee Marsh is managed by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources,  Division of Wildlife and has been named one of the top 10 bird watching spots in North America.

This promises to be a fun show with lots of information from a talented naturalist. Be sure to tune in.

Thank you for supporting BirdCallsRadio.
