Good to be back

It was great to be back on the air on Sunday. If you missed the show, don’t fret. I will put up the show’s archive in the next day or two.

My guest was Denise Savageau, conservation director for the Town of Greenwich. We talked about the importance for birds and wildlife of open space and clean water, how to get kids involved in nature, the three IBAs in Greenwich, and more.

Thanks to Denise for coming in live for the show.

I also spoke with Mardi Dickinson, the compiler for the Westport Circle of the Christmas Bird Count. She talked about the CBC in general, how to get involved and some specifics of the local counts.

Thanks to Mardi for coming on live, too. I will have live updates next week from both the Westport and Stamford/Greenwich CBCs. Can’t wait to hear what species are out there.

Thanks again to my guests, Bob at WGCH and to all of you who tuned in. Again, stay tuned for the archive, if you missed it.

P.S. I also gave away a field guide to a listener who emailed me with the correct Bird of the Week. Stay tuned throughout Bird Calls for more giveaways.

Bird Calls radio airs Sundays from 1 to 2 p.m. on WGCH AM 1490.
