Green stuff is likely a "dye test gone awry"
Dick Harris, director of HarborWatch/RiverWatch, says the green stuff in the Norwalk River is likely a “dye test gone awry.” If it is dye, it will dissipate and not cause any environmental harm. Dye tests are performed to determine where drain pipes lead, Harris said.
Harris, as well as Norwalk fire department personnel, took samples of the water for testing.
