What is that in the Norwalk River!!??

Norwalk fire personnel and HarborWatch/RiverWatch director Dick Harris are en route to the Norwalk River to check out what this green substance is in the Norwalk River. This is going on right now (Wednesday, 3:45 p.m.) Looks like a terrible scene for the environment.

The source is a pipe spilling into a tiny tributary on Selleck St. in Norwalk. Early indications are that it’s antifreeze, but officials can’t find a source yet.

Good timing (although certainly not good news) as Tom Andersen will be the next guest on Bird Calls this Sunday. Tom wrote a book about Long Island Sound and the threats to the water.

More information and updates will be available soon at www.thehour.com
