The peregrine falcons are back at the site where they nested last year along the Norwalk River. It just so happens the nesting site is literally yards away from where I work. I feel lucky and blessed to be able to witness their comings and goings.

They have been calling and checking out their site in earnest this week. One perch favored by one of the falcons is atop a mast of a sailboat. Makes for a good photo opp.

Last year they raised two chicks. Hopefully this year they will have similar success.

Stay tuned for updates.

Until then, remember to tune into Bird Calls Radio every Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. This week will feature Benjamin Van Doren, a senior at White Plains (NY) High School. He is a birder and bird researcher. We’ll gain insight on what hopes the next generation of conservationists have.

Thanks for supporting Bird Calls Radio.
