We have an exciting show coming up on Sunday!

We recently discussed the most recent CT State of the Birds Report on Bird Calls Radio. The title of the 2012 report is “Where is the Next Generation of Conservationists Coming From?”

On Sunday, we’ll talk with one of the future conservation leaders, Benjamin Van Doren. He is a senior at White Plains (N.Y.) High School and already has an impressive bird resume. He not only watches birds and participates in events such as World Series of Birding, but he also studies and researches birds.

He is a finalist for the prestigious Intel Science Talent Search for his studies on the morning flight and nocturnal migration research. He also worked last summer with at-risk seabirds on an island off the coast of Maine. He is a former president of the New York State Young Birders Club and is still active with that group.

The Cornell University-bound birder has also already been published in magazines such as North American Birds and Birding.

I can’t wait to chat with Ben this Sunday, live from 1 to 2 p.m. on 1490 WGCH and “Listen Live” above.

Thanks for your support of Bird Calls Radio.
