Sights from Lighthouse Point Park Migration Festival

Here are a few shots from last weekend’s Lighthouse Point Park Migration Festival held in New Haven. My son Will, 5, and I visited the beautiful park and got there just in time to see master falconer Brian Bradley show off some of his birds of prey. The Harris’s hawk flew low right our heads multiple times. Will loved that part.

After the festival Will and I check out the butterfly garden, walked to the playground, the lighthouse and beach (where we found sea stars and sand worms.). Will, by the way, will let centipedes and earwigs crawl up his arm, but even he was wary of the sand worms. Good time.

Stratford Bird Festival and Audubon Greenwich Hawk Watch and Green Expo are this weekend. Get out and check them out.

Falconer Brian Bradley with his Harris's Hawk (Will actually took this photo. Not bad for 5)

Cloudless sulfur at butterfly garden. Missed the focus on this one by a bit.

Will catching bugs at the garden. He knows not to catch butterflies without a net.

Maybe someone who know more about butterflies can help me with this ID.
