What's going on with Bird Calls anyway?

As many of you may have heard, WSTC/WNLK has been sold to WSHU at Sacred Heart University. As of Sunday at 6 p.m., all Cox programming will end — including Bird Calls Radio.

What does that mean for Bird Calls? Good question.

What I do know is that this Saturday at 3 p.m. there will be a Bird Calls show with a fantastic interview with Judy Richardson, master bird bander and regional director of CT Audubon. Judy, an Easton resident, also owns property Costa Rica at which a bird banding station is located. She tracks birds on both ends of the spectrum. Tune in as usual this Saturday (Nov. 5) to hear Judy’s interview. Also, of course, Joe Warren of Wild Birds Unlimited will talk about backyard bird feeding.

After this Saturday … the future is a bit uncertain. Bird Calls has come a long way in a short time, so something is likely in the future. Whether that’s at a radio station, on the Internet, or some other venue — stay tuned to see. At any rate, keep visiting www.birdcallsradio to birding updates and banter. Remember to check out the “radio archives” for all of the past Bird Calls programs.

So tune in as usual this Saturday and stay tuned after that.

As always, thanks for checking in with Bird Calls Radio. Be sure to check out Bird Calls  Saturday from 3 to 4 p.m. on WSTC/WNLK AM1400/1350 (in S. CT and nearby NY) or https://birdcallsradio.com/listen-live/ from anywhere in the world (where there’s Internet access, that is.)
