BirdCallsRadio: Jayne Neville

Jayne Amico with swift.

Here is the archive of the Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, show with Jayne Neville, founder and owner of the Mount Vernon Songbird Sanctuary in Southington, Conn.

Jayne is a wildlife rehabilitator who specializes in songbird rehabilitation. She has nursed to health thousands of birds, such as swifts, hummingbirds and woodpeckers. Listen as she describes the feeling of rehabilitating one of these precious birds and releases them into the wild. It’s a fun and lively interview.

Joe Warren talks about the mild winter and the dangers posed to wildlife by the storms of August and October. I talk about the red-bellied woodpecker and some of the birds that have been seen in Connecticut recently.
