Bird Calls Radio will be aired at a special time this week: 11 a.m. on Saturday (and repeated at 9 p.m.), instead of the usual 3 p.m. on WSTC/WNLK AM1400/1350 and www.wstcwnlk.com. It will also be repeated Saturday late evening, so hopefully the Bird Calls nation can reach a few more listeners. Be sure to tune Saturday at 11 a.m. or later Saturday evening for Birtd Calls.

You won’t want to miss it because Ted Gilman, long-time naturalist at Audubon Greenwich, will be the special guest this week on Bird Calls Radio. I look forward to speaking with Ted and, as often is the case, I’m sure the topics will range far and wide. Ted has been a naturalist at Audubon Greenwich for more than 30 years, so his knowledge of that piece of land is unrivaled. He has also traveled extensively, visiting such places as China and Kenya, to study the natural world there.

Ted also specializes in getting kids in

volved with nature so you know I’ll be asking about that, too. Should be a lively discussion about the wildlife of New England and beyond.

Joe Warren of Wild Birds Unlimited in Darien and Bedford Hills, N.Y. will join in as well, doing his usual spot.

I’ll have some thoughts about a recent camping trip to Pennsylvania elk country and, of course, Connecticut’s birds. Did you hear about the pelican that’s been seen along the coast? Tune in to find out about it.

Be sure to check out Bird Calls every Saturday from 3 to 4 p.m.  — except this week at 11 a.m. and 9 p.m.!!!! — on WSTC/WNLK AM1400/1350 (in S. CT and nearby NY) or https://birdcallsradio.com/listen-live/ from anywhere in the world (where there’s Internet access, that is.) Thanks for checking in.
